Some of the typical food in Gualococti  comes from natural products produced thanks to the agricultural activities developed by the people of that town, for example:

Ayote with panela candy: this dessert is made with pumpkin and candy cane bases.

Atol shuco: It is a hot drink that consists of fermented corn dough, water, salt and alguashte.

Riguas of corn cobRiguas are a delicious snack made of pure corn cob, very similar to tamales.


Tortillas Cipas: This dish differs from the regular Salvadoran tortilla because of its sweeter and smoother taste.

Chilate with honey or nuégados: Chilate is a corn-based drink, of thick consistency, like atol and served hot, it is very aromatic since it is prepared with fat pepper and ginger. It is usual to accompany with sweet snacks.

Bread with coffee: Afternoon or morning Coffee and Bread is a custom well-stablish in Gualococti.
